Wonder years

My first step towards re-curating my individual style: wearing color (again).

Urban Outfitters top, Zara jeans, Swedish Hasbeens clogs, Casio watch

A few weeks ago, I did a huge overhaul of my closet – not necessarily a full-on Kondo, but close – and in doing so, I realized my wardrobe basically consisted of nothing but blues, browns, and blacks. While I do love neutrals, I don't remember making a conscious choice to do away with color forever, so it came as a small surprise. That said, I'm slowly trying to reincorporate color back into my wardrobe while also resisting the pull of impulse buys that'll end up replacing all the clothes I've just given away. It's hard.

So, full disclosure: this shirt was kind of a gut-reaction purchase. But I think I'll make an exception, because it was on sale (thanks, Urban), it makes me feel like Winnie Cooper (which is a good thing, I mean, look at my FACE), and it reminds me of the little boys' t-shirts I used to thrift back in college (a totally acceptable practice).

That reminds me, I've been thrifting more lately, the act of which still brings me tons of enjoyment and much-needed therapy (browsing through racks can be weirdly calming). I've found a few awesome and functional pieces, which I'll share in my next post. Please hold me accountable.
